Patrick Swayze

Heard on the television news last night that Patrick Swayze has pancreatic cancer. My heart went out to him and his wife Lisa. This kind of cancer generally does not have a good mortality rate. However, my mate has been living with it for 11 years now and I know it can be done.

As is typical of the media these days, there were reports that Patrick has only five weeks to live, and detailing how thin he was, how reclusive he has become, and generally burying the man before he's even gone. They all should be ashamed of themselves! This kind of trash reporting is expected of rags like National Enquirer, but honestly, it's it time that those taking upon themselves to report the news actually get off their asses and find out the truth first! If we are going to rely more and more on internet reporting, then those who are doing the reporting had better hike up their britches and learn what real journalism is all about. Get the facts and then report the story. This "instant" reporting is nothing more than gossip mongering. Sadly, the readers are left to wonder when they read some so-called news whether it is truth or not.

Thankfully, the story about Patrick is not as grim as was reported yesterday. According to the latest reports based on statements from his doctor and agent, he is responding well to the treatment, and is not weeks away from death as was reported yesterday.

Positive energy, people! Send the man positive energy!

Hang in there Patrick, you can beat this! It can be done, and you are not a quitter. You and Lisa are in our prayers.

Keep dancin', babe!

i happen to hear the news last night, too, on television. but he doesn't look very ill to me. he's got all these smiles plastered on his face. i agree, attitude does make a lot of difference.

Pat can beat this challenge.

I have always enjoyed his movies. I loved his movie "Ghost." They have made so much progress lately in cancer treatments, he can beat this. Attitude has a lot to do with survival rates.
